O Rei

Over the years, I've discovered preferring to read the news in print (or online) minus the annoying sensationalist voices and commercials. Yet I may watch the video if I can stomach it. EVEN rewatch the extended highlights when feasible.

News had spread of his failing health and being hospitalized, so it was to be expected, but like that of many others, my heart sank when the bbc news notification flashed across my phone that Pelé had passed. We're programmed to remember the moments of where we were when we heard the news. Of those we shall never forget.

Been admiring old photos of Pelé's youth- and quite unfortunate there's only limited video footage, but yet history speaks for itself doesn't it?

Kingdom come? The King has come, and initiated a sea of inspired individuals. Adults and children alike. He certainly rolled out that magical green carpet. What a legend!

Can't help but wonder...if had Pele NOT ignited futbol history, WOULD we have caught wind of his greatness? WOULD we be playing? Legends are meant to create believers. And it's clear that Sir Pelé sure did.

Celebrating that bright, charismatic twinkling star that arose to show "O Jogo Bonito"- and changed the course of futbol history. Saluting Pelé with a digital homage recap- an imaginary series of reissued training jackets to commemorate the 3 teams he played for.
