blue...

is the color of the sky and sea at its most beautiful. So many shades to lose yourself in.

week 6 of not playing, i cyber scored a brand new pair of boots and have been secretly saluting that questionable sky and turbulent sea while tiptoeing gently on my feet. Since I'm at the edge of those greens, and NOT playing, pretending my version of a pair of Nemeziz turfs are blue suede...and capable of painting shadows...



Channeling some calm with a collage of some celebratory blue themes and moments otherwise... #HAVINGAMOMENT


Riding the Blue Train and Kind of Blue - Miles Davis & John Coltrane(BTW the (A)(C)(E) trains all run blue and closest to home these days)- double-entendre

Azulejos >> Portuguese ceramic blue tiles - nyammmm- Lots too in Sao Luis, Brazil- where I first discovered them- and sort aching to see more of them...

The blue glass ashtray I stole from a hostel in Berlin in '98 - I'm sad- think a previous roommate of mine genked my stolen treasure, but I've often thought back to it- and have learned that stolen things will always be stolen from you...

Lapis Lazuli, Zaffre Blue, I like the way shades of blue sound... it spurs a sea of meaning...

Indigo and cloth-dying- no one makes a cute smurf, but I do love dark denim...

Vermeer's Ultra-Marine in The Milkmaid - Please watch The Girl with the Pearl Earring - I was magnetized by the mixing of the indigo and powder creating paint...


If Brooklyn had a color, I think it would be navy. As is that infamous NY navy blue hat. Or those Yankee blue pinstripes.... and blue is the Dodgers LA cap hanging on my doorknob, but the reality is that if I took to canvas again anytime soon, and questionably playing the greens anytime soon, I'll let you guess the color of my magic paintbrush...and imaginary fin...
